Fasstone Viewer

Usually I use ACDsee (in version 7) as my allround picture viewer. I have used it the last couple of years and I am quite happy with it. Only downside is that it does not support the CR2 raw files from my Canon 30D.
Then some weeks ago when purchasing a new PC I had the ambitious idea to switch over to Vista...(this is a whole other story....!!). Anyway, along with this activity I also purchased the latest edition of ACDsee to get Vista support. Unfortunately it didnt work out. The normal version does not have Colour Management and somehow I did not get the colourse right when running it on Vista. This might not have been ACDsee's fault but anyway after a long struggle I gave the SW back, got my money back (which is fair I must say) and I was without a Picture Viewer capable running on Vista. That's how I found the excellent freeware (for private use): Fasstone Viewer. Its a superb Picture Viewer, similar to ACDsee, with Colour Management, supporting also my CR2 and compatible with Vista also.

It has a lot of cool features, batch conversion, renaming etc...The slideshow works fast, with Colour Management enabled it slows down a bit but still very acceptable. Once in Slideshow mode you can drag the Mousepointer in one of the four sides of the screen and a window with additional information opens up. For example on the right side you get all the EXIF data:

So for anyone looking for a good Picture Viewer I can definitely recommend this one!
